Tiana Alexandra Silliphant returned to Vietnam in 1989 during the trade embargo and interviewed many of the prominent Communist leaders in the North. In these excerpts from her feature documentary, “From Hollywood To Hanoi,” Tiana has conversations with former Prime Minister Pham Van Dong and former General and Diplomat Le Duc Tho. In this video, Le Duc Tho explains why he rejected the Nobel Peace Prize that Henry Kissinger accepted.
Tiana also conducted extensive interviews with Vietnam’s “Red Napoleon,” General Vo Nguyen Giap, who is credited with victory over the French and the Americans in the Indochina and Vietnam Wars. General Giap died on October 4, 2013 at the age of 102. Tiana is currently finishing her new feature documentary entitled “The General & Me,” which focuses on her long-term friendship with General Giap
